Starting a new job whilst working from home

Hello
Based on my experience, I've written an article regarding how you can deal with the challenges of starting a new job in a predominantly remote enviornment.
How to start a new job in a fully remote world
The advice is particularly relevant if you are starting a new job, it's very different to how the first few weeks of a role might look when we were all in the office pre pandemic. It's also got relevant advice if you have someone in your team starting remotely.
It's really important we make extra allowances for both ourselves and others in this scenario and are patient, accepting some things will take a lot longer than they did pre Covid.
Hope the advice is useful.

I can only echo what rjbear says, particularly about making allowances. A new staff member joined the team my wife works for about 2 weeks after the first lockdown started, and my wife has been involved in their training. What would probably have taken a few days when in the office, has taken weeks or months when the individual is remote. It's irritating for both the trainer and trainee when information simply doesn't seem to be sinking in. The reality is that for most people it is much easier to learn when you have somebody to actually walk you through a task than trying to learn from on-line training or with remote support.
