Terms and Conditions for the Dave Berry's Wickestape competition

1.COMPETITION MECHANIC AND HOW TO WIN

The winner/ winners for this competition will be picked to play from all entrants at random each day during the Absolute Radio Breakfast show during the competition run period.

The Competition is a song identification game with prizes awarded for each correctly identified song. 

During competition period (outlined in section 3) each morning during the Absolute Radio breakfast show a clip of audio will be played which consists of 9 different songs that have been cut to a shorter length. There will be 1 song from each Absolute Radio decade show playlist which will make up the 9 songs including in the audio clip. 

The Absolute Radio Breakfast show presenters will prompt listeners to call in to play the competition during the show the competition round sits within. The time the competition entry is open will be determined by Absolute Radio and will be stated each morning during the opening of the entry. 

Each morning during the competition period two callers at random and asked to come on-air to play the game. Before the competition takes place, they will tell the production team how many of the songs they will guess. Each contestant will only be allowed a maximum of one guess per decade/playlist and if incorrect they will not get another chance to guess the artist/ song associated with that decade/playlist 

Each player will be asked to identify the song clips including the artist and song title they think they know. For each correct answer they will win the prize that is associated with that song. For each incorrect answer they will not win the prize that is associated with that song (see section 5 for prize outline). The answer will only be deemed correct if the entrant gets both the artist and song title correct. 

The songs will not change throughout the competition however, the song clip lengths will increase in time length throughout the competition at the producer’s discretion. 

There will be one/ multiple on-air winners from the start of the competition to the end of the competition. 

The competition ends when all songs have been correctly identified. 

Each incorrect answer will be hosted online at www.absoluteradio.co.uk and will be displayed before the next competition round.

2.ENTRY PLATFORMS AND COSTS

On-air Competition 

The on-air presenter will information know which method of entry which will be from the following options during the competition week:

Calls from landlines will be charged at national rate. 

Calls from mobiles may cost considerably more. 

1. DATES 

Online Competition 

Start Date and End Date. From 17/08/2021* until all 9 artists and songs have been correctly identified. 

*Exact entry times to the daily competitions will be announced on the Absolute Radio Breakfast each weekday morning between 06:00 -10:00. 

Entries received before the Start Date or after the End Date will be invalid. 

Winner Announcement: The name and the hometown of the winner(s) (s) will be announced on the Absolute Radio Breakfast show each week during the competition period and will be available by contacting win@bauermedia.co.uk 

1. ENTRY RESTRICTIONS 

• Open to UK residents aged 18 years or over on date of entry. 

• One entry per person. 

• Our employees (and their family members) or employees of any company involved in the Competition, including any Prize Provider, are not permitted to enter.

1. THE PRIZE 

There will be one or multiple winners of the competition and for each artist/song correctly identified there is a prize associated: 

• 1st artist/song identified: £250 Wickes Gift- card 

• 2nd artist/song identified: £250 Wickes Gift- card 

• 3rd artist/song identified: £250 Wickes Gift- card 

• 4th artist/song identified: £250 Wickes Gift- card 

• 5th artist/song identified: £250 Wickes Gift- card 

• 6th artist/song identified: £250 Wickes Gift- card 

• 7th artist/song identified: £250 Wickes Gift- card

Use of a false name will result in disqualification. 

1. The Prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and there is no cash alternative. Wickes reserves the right to substitute the Prize with one of equal or greater value at any time. 

1. Any changes to the prize draw will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by Wickes. 

1. Entrants who sign up to the Wickes marketing can opt out at any time. All marketing content which is sent to entrants will have an opt-out link within the content. 

The Prize is provided by Wickes and we are not responsible for any aspect of the Prize, including unsatisfactory quality or late delivery. 

OTHER CONDITIONS 

1. DATA PROTECTION. Names, email addresses, and /or telephone numbers (which, for all SMS competitions, will be shared with our SMS provider,) will be collected and used to process entries. Winner’s details may be given to the prize provider to arrange delivery of the prize. Your details may remain stored after the End Date but will not be used for marketing unless you have ticked an opt-in box on entry. 1. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND CONSENTS. By entering this Competition, you are consenting to our use of your entry both to publicise this Competition, our radio station or any other radio station which we own or control. This means that we may use all names, images, descriptions, photographs video footage, and other information, which you’ve submitted on entry, in any media, without paying you and without any time restriction. You also agree that we may film, record or photograph you in connection with the competition and /or the Prize (if you win!). We will own these films, recordings or photographs and we may use them publicly, including on the internet, for our radio broadcasts and/or for any promotional purposes. You will also have waived any moral rights or right to payment that you may have had. 

1. MISCELLANEOUS. 

a. Entries that don’t comply with these terms won’t be accepted and you may be disqualified if we think you’ve breached them. 

b. Participants cannot enter more than once 

c. If there is a dispute about the operation of the Competition or correctness of any answers given, our decision is final and no discussion will be entered into on this subject. 

d. The correct answers to questions must exactly match our answers to win. 

e. We are not responsible if you fail to get through when you call / text to enter, or if you lose signal during a call. 

f. You are responsible for all costs of entry. 

g. You may be disqualified if you are incomprehensible, inaudible or if you appear to be driving, intoxicated or likely to offend listeners. 

h. Whilst on-air, you must not make inappropriate or offensive statements. 

i. As far as it is lawful to do so we exclude our liability for any losses suffered in connection with the Competition / the Prize. 

j. We may cancel / amend / end / suspend the Competition if we need to do so due to circumstances outside our control.
