Should my council tax band be changed?

My husband and I bought our village house in 2002. Originally built in 1880 as two small cottages by the time we bought it it was a single 3 bedroomed house which had previously been the village post office. It was in Band C for council tax. In 2006 we converted the house back into two dwellings - one a two bedroomed semi-detached and one a one bedroomed semi. We sold the two bedroomed cottage and retained the one bedroomed cottage for ourselves. At the time I contacted the district council to see if our council tax banding should be changed and they said no. My thoughts are that, in 1991, those two properties did not exist and the banding was based on the valuation of a 3-bedroomed property. How can it be right that both of these smaller properties are now still in band C?? For reference the cottages in the same row in the village are a mixture of band B & C. Is this matter worth pursuing do you think? Thanks

Band C seems low for a 3 bed detached, so thatmay have been incorrect. But it is worth asking the VOA to review the bandIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales1
