My mortgage style student loan is due to be wiped after 25 years in October 2021. If I have started repaying it before then, will the balance of what is owed in October be wiped at that time or will repayments have to continue until the loan is repaid as they had already started?

Whether you are in payment or deferral doesn't matter, as long as you are not in arrears/defaulted then the loan will be wiped after 25 years and gone forever.
