REMO (RECIPROCAL ENFORCEMENT OF MAINTENANCE ORDERS)

Hiya,
Long story short, my 10 years old son and I live in the UK. Father moved to Spain last year. We had a private child maintenance arrangement but he stopped paying a couple of months after moving to Spain. I am struggling living on UC and I want to use REMO but I am concerned that it will take years due to the language difference and BREXIT. Does anyone has experience getting child maintenance from Spain using REMO?

Hi
I see that your threads are quite some time ago, but I have first hand experience of just how frustrating it can be for the REMO process to come to a conclusion. I hope by now you have made progress.
I talk about my experiences of the REMO process on LinkedIn and I volunteer through a Facebook group called Single Parent Support and Advice Services. They have people with legal expertise, but not for REMO.
I am always keen to hear how people are getting on with their applications and encourage people to complain if they aren't getting the service they are entitled to. I know this is just another hoop to jump through, but it was very cathartic for me.
Some people seem to sail through the REMO process whilst others have a very frustrating time. It is that inconsistent and now made worse by COVID and a restructure - 2 MBECs were closed down last year.0
