  • Retirement age is the same for both. That's all I know from those 3.

As I mentioned there are now several CS pension schemes and even different choices available depending on whether you joined before or after 30/7/07 - see CS PENSION WEBSITE - so it's very difficult to be too specific on here without great risk of giving you "duff gen".
If you haven't joined a Union is there an HR or pensions dept you can talk to about this?
Generally transferring into a govt backed final salary scheme is the best bet - but I've emphisised the word "generally" because it may not be in your case and there simply isn't enough info to know.
  • Thanks agian Ian. My union reps didn't know anything about pensions, & I started early Feb 07. I believe that had I joined a few months later retirement age would have officially been 65, whereas mine shows at 60, although I'll most likely want to work to 65 anyway. Don't know if that means I leave the pension til then. Presume so!

My pension is something called 'Premium'. I read through the choices [there were 2 i think] & picked that one.
