Chip +1 not recognised by Nationwide mortgages

I'm applying for a Mortgage with Nationwide, until recently I was saving using Chip+1.

While I have managed to get statements from the Chip app, these only contain my name and address, but do not have an account number, nor do they have my NI number on them. Nationwide are insisting that the statements must have one of these to pass their checks. Chip's FAQ simply states that your account number is your phone number, but they don't print that on the statement either.

I've replied to Nationwide with this information, and with the current account statements showing money going in and out of chip and am waiting for a reponse. I've also asked Chip for a better statement.

Has anyone else encountered this issue, and were you able to sort it?

Why would they have your NI number on? I don't remember ever giving Chip my NI number and my proper bank statements don't have it on either.

Why do Nationwide need to look at your Chip statements? If it's affordability, can you just withdraw the balance to your proper bank account?

Apologies if I am missing the point

Presumably proof of deposit? And not just that they actually have the deposit, but proof of where it's come from.

Correct, they want proof of where it's come from. I've already withdrawn it and moved it to Marcus for simplicity, but they're still wanting proof that the Chip account is mine.

So I eventually resolved this by showing all the money going into Chip and coming out again, but still bloody annoying. Mortgage now approved
