Welcome to the site, have you googled the number you have to see if they are known scammers......
Maybe this thread would be better in the I won section........I have no idea how to move it to that section tho2011 & 2012 - Many Fantastic Prizes - thank you to all posters 2021 7 small prizes 2022 1 small clever pots win2023 £50 Yours Mag 2024 £100 Thats Life, book win, Thats Life Crime, June, £100 Codebreakers, December Elf The Musical tickets and an overnight stay in Newport 20250 -
yeah i googled the number and it was the same. They just called back and told me it was £17 for breakfast each and an £82.00 one off payment to make?!?!
i'll have a look now on how to move sections0 -
You need to send a PM to a BG to get this moved to Compers Chat Corner. BG's listed here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6207579/competitions-board-guides#latest
I will send a request. PM sent to Misslayed.
You should NOT be asked to pay for a genuine competition win. This is a scam.
Did you enter a competition for this prize? Was it posted on MSE?
Have you any further details?

Never heard of a competition where you have to pay for part of it, be very careful.I do it just for fun and whatever I win is a bonus3

I've won holidays/hotels and have NEVER had to pay anything.
Also can you search the forum to see if you entered the competition on here? Are you in the habit of ticking those that you enter and complimenting the author?1 -
They sell discounted breaks and you would be buying one3

Welcome @Samblake0365
Unfortunately looking online it looks like they inform people that they have won a competition but then get them to pay, basically timeshare. So it isn't actually a win.
The only time I've ever had to pay for a competition, it was a fully refundable deposit for a camper van, incase we took off with it or trashed it, so I completely understand that and we got it all back.
If you are every unsure if you have won, it is best to stick to one site to enter competitions on (incase you accidentally enter one twice, that disqualifies you) and that way you can also check if you actually entered it, easier.
With social media competitions, check the message is from the legit page/account, click their name in the header and it should take you to their profile or fake profile, where there are loads of scams around at the moment!
If you entered, check the terms and conditions and the end date, some scammers message people before the competition actually ends.
But of course you are always welcome to double check with people here.
I'm always happy for people to inbox me too if they don't feel comfortable posting on here, I'll try my best to answer!
Best of Luck with the competitions.
Thank you to everyone who posts competitions and good luck to everyone who enters.5 -
