It's TATA.
You'll be fine.
Just sign it.0 -
Simply a way of inserting a Company name into a standard format document without the need to manually edit and insert.Manxman_in_exile said:I didn't need to get past the first line - Tata's grammar is appalling and that would be enough for me to bin them...LightKnow said:...Tata Consultancy Services Limited (“TCS” or “we”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security ofyour personal data.

That's standard language for a legal document. "Is" is the correct word to use since it refers to "Tata Consultancy Services Limited".Manxman_in_exile said:I didn't need to get past the first line - Tata's grammar is appalling and that would be enough for me to bin them...LightKnow said:...Tata Consultancy Services Limited (“TCS” or “we”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security ofyour personal data.

Surely the standard legal wording would simply be "Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)... " rather than "Tata Consultancy Services ('TCS' or 'we')... "? The "we" is both redundant and wrong as "we" shouldn't appear in that policy when referring only to "TCS". It will not always be clear and unambiguous to whom the "we" is referring - is it just TCS or is it TCS and the OP, or someone else? "TCS" on the other hand is always going to be clear and unambiguous and is all that is required.
And if "TCS" can't edit the document competently it doesn't say a lot for their attention to detail.0 -
That’s what I like about this forum - start off with a data protection query, then move to the grammar queries by page 2.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.3 -
TL:DR (but may later). But for heaven's sake take your employer's name out of the document! You may be breaking the policy already by including it!
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
What does this indicate ?eamon said:Its a general data protection (aka cover our backsides) policy document. I can't be bothered to read through it but if you must then look for something that says "data will be anonymised before being released to 3rd parties".
@Grumpy_chap I know tata has lot a press and seem ok but like I said there were to many red flags for me that made me nervous as hell
@jobbingmusician By talking about them ? It not like am bad mouthing them but gathering information0 -
It's a legally drafted document. That's most likely been drawn up by employment solicitors and provided to numerous clients. Read your mortgage terms and conditions. The lender will most certainly be referred to as 'we' while the borrower as 'you'.Manxman_in_exile said:Surely the standard legal wording would simply be "Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)...
