I don't think you should necessarily feel the need to keep your opinions on him to yourself now (or ever). Your friend might appreciate a "better off without him" talk, she probably already knows it 🙂3

Unfortunately she is not listening as he has now said she should stay with him to discuss 'things' (all past stuff he knew about her or existing realities eg distance but now decided they are now issues.)
So upside is I wont have to see her Friday with my mouth taped upWhich is difficult for drinking ...
Downside is I already suggested yesterday he is doing a 'jump' and she is saying 'how high'... she was like but I love him.. however I cant see any good here, he is fairly controlling anyway. Argh...
Spending
I bought a round of drinks yesterday and also went on the Thames river boat which is always more expensive but just plain fabulous in this heat.
NSD is unlikely to happen either today as seeing friend whose mother has just died so a coffee as drank loads last night. I will then go to the gym straight after, will take my gear.
Good news is Eas*j*t added cash in my bank after my cancelled flight refund claim - £220 - I wasnt expecting it so that can pay for my course but waiting first on other payments. All thanks to the MSE guide on here. They already paid my extra expenses eg the cab I had to get home etc so
Smallest invoice is being chased hard by the agent - hopefully paid tomorrow ...but its £250 vs the £0000s owed elsewhere.
The energy bill press is getting worse especially with the profits of the companes, I will definitely be sending my parents grocery money if bills go up like they are saying . I have got them obsessed with the pressure cooker as they cook a lot using the oven for hours so getting them to use oven less helps as well.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Glad you got a refund. It all helps.
Cruise on the Thames on a hot summer day sounds nice too.
Ouch to your friend taking him back...!!!!!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

That's always the danger with bad mouthing an only-just-an-ex - they get back together and suddenly you're the bad guy... 🙄
Good news on the refund!5 -
Always better to keep your mouth shut for a bit. If they are going to get back together, you're the bad guy, if they're not getting back together you're not saying anything they didn't already know!Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

Saw on here earlier about the Iceland £30 offer for pensioners so I told mum and she rang the line 4 times and line was busy. The 5th time music started playing so she hung on and about 40 mins later she got thru. Her and dad have now got the £30 vouchers each being sent and apparently if they shop on a Tuesday they get 10% off as well so tx MSE!Merlin's_Beard said:Always better to keep your mouth shut for a bit. The energy bill press is getting worse especially with the profits of the companes,This is really worrying it will affect a huge number of people and will have a long lasting impact. Personally I fixed last year until October next year so I count myself very lucky but I will not be taking this for granted. I will add some additional savings to our bills pot as a cushion if the situation is still bad next year. With our current income and expenditure it will mean that we won't be able to afford and annual family holiday, a sacrifice to be sure but we will be more fortunate than many other people.
Well done your EJ refund, it all helps3 -

At least you have the time and focus now to save that EF up for next year and hopefully there will be more help from the govt and stabilisation of prices next year.
So so worried for those on a fixed income, benefits and those with kids as well. Everyone is tightening their belt so businesses suffering too.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
