Hi.
Applied for state pension back in April online got email saying received. Was 66 5 weeks ago had no letter and unable to get through on phone. 
Can anyone suggest what next

After you’ve made a claim you’ll get a letter about your payments.

The new State Pension is usually paid every 4 weeks into an account of your choice. You’re paid in arrears (for the last 4 weeks, not the coming 4 weeks).

There are different rules if you live abroad.

Your first payment

Your first payment will be within 5 weeks of reaching State Pension age. You’ll get a full payment every 4 weeks after that.

You might get part of a payment before your first full payment. The letter will tell you what to expect.

You will need to keep trying to contact DWP - have you tried very early in the morning?

You have to phone dead on 8:00. If you do not get through, do it the next day at 8:00 and then the next day at 8:00, until you get through to them. Bit of an issue but you will get through in the end.

If you can bear to, just stay on the line listening to the very annoying message. I was in their answering loop yesterday mid-morning for nearly 40mins but eventually got to speak with an advisor.
