Wigan to London EustonSaturday 16th October 2021

Hi 
I have been looking for advanced train tickets from Wigan to London Euston and it says sold out, I have also rang and they said they have sold out but yet I have checked daily from beginning of July and never seen them on sale.
The cheapest I can find is the 7:09am (thats the train i want to travel on) returning same day at 7:30pm for £94.50 is there any other way of trying to get this cheaper.  Can anyone advise me.  Ive been on to all the sites I know and its the same price.
I cant understand how the advance tickets have sold out when ive checked every day.

Have you signed up for an Advance Ticket alert?  Advance Ticket Alerts | Train Ticket Alerts | Avanti West Coast
Sat 16th October may in fact not be on sale yet.  There are a lot of engineering works on WCML, and an amended timetable due to staff shortages.  In fact, I have read that timetables for some weekends are being released as late as 8 days before travel.
You could try posting details of your journey on RailUK forums - some of the posters there have access to more information https://www.railforums.co.uk/forums/fares-advice-policy.105/

I just tried signing up for ticket alerts for your date and it tells me they will be in touch when tickets are released, so I think kuratowski may be right.

Just got a message from Avanti that tickets are now released for trains on 16th October

Looking at Trainsplt, tickets are now on sale and the 0709 is £32.80 which is pretty cheap; that price will no doubt go up soon.
