Injured bird in my kitchen!

Its along similar lines (cats protection league).
Years ago my parents said that I could have a cat...and off we went to the cats protection league. I saw a lovely cat, and had already named him. Of course they had to check the house, and my mother had made it all look nice for when the came round (she was having a very good day as far as tidying up was concerned). The lady who came round said that our house was too nice and refused to let us have the cat.
My mother of course complained no end, and eventually they said that we could have it. In the meantime I had already chosen a different cat and we refused. To this day neither I, nor my parents have donated to the cats protection league.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

I always donate food to the RSPCA now when they collect outside the supermarket. At least that way it should be getting to where it needs to be.
I have nothing but bad experiences of the RSPCA and sometimes wonder exactly which animals they do actually help (if any)0 -
I once rescued a bird from 2 magpies only to find it missing both eyes and a lot of blood (for a bird). Only thing I could do was leave it for a quick-ish death at the hands of the magpies, feeling a little guilty at the fact I’d prolonged the agony. Sometimes the kindest thing to do is to let nature take its course – but if theres a chance to save an animal I always go for it.
The RSPCA are pretty much useless and I don’t call them out for anything now a days.
A few months ago I saw someone kick a dog in the head like it was a football. The dog yelped and went into a seizure for a second. I followed him home, wrote the details down and reported the incident to them. Their agent, arriving the next day, couldent find any injuries and found it in good health. Either she was blind or knocked on the wrong door.0 -
Hi DMDz,
But just maybe the visit from the RSPCA would have made the dog owner think twice before he behaved like that again, especially in public?
Or maybe I'm clutching at straws to make you feel better about it?
I'm sure that if you saw something like that happen again, you'd probably do exactly the same thing, because it was the right thing to do (although if it were me, I'd have probably started some sort of stalking campaign to let the dog owner know I was on to him.......but that probably says something more sinister about my personality than I'd care to face up to right now!)

DS2 has just wandered in with two baby thrushes in a fishing net  . Apparently he found them hopping up and down the driveway.
They can't quite fly (little hops then little flutters), so I am reluctant to put them back outside as there are lots of cats around.
What the heck do I do now? Does anyone know a way to keep them safe/feed them until they can fly (I reckon that will only take a couple of days)?
All help appreciated.

Well I'd have put them straight back and let them take their chances ... If they can't yet fly I imagine their parents are still feeding them, no idea what they'll be able to eat, and I guess they learn to fly fast if they have some kind of incentive like a cat chasing them!Signature removed for peace of mind0
