Okay, here is a good question and one I am keen to be answered. I lost my job last year, partly due to Covid, and, because of my age I have decided on semi-retirement. So I need to make money online. Now, believe me, I have lost count of the number of websites and YouTube videos I have checked over the past six months. I reckon I have checked everything but maybe not!!

So my question here is this and one that has passed through your brains over and over again. Where can I find a decent online money-making resource that DOES NOT include the following:

a) Surveys - and I mean every single survey option on the planet!

b) Affiliate marketing - why do so many YouTubers copy each other on this impossible way to make money???

c) Dropshipping - a vulnerable and questionable way to make money online!

d) Selling - on Amazon, eBay, etc, etc??? Indefinite and time-consuming.

e) Matched betting or any other gambling option.

So, there you have it. If you have any absolutely definite ways to make money online that DOES NOT include the above, then post it in your reply.

I appreciate everybody who has viewed this post! Thanking you in advance.

    OnlyFans?

Honestly, try looking at it the other way around. Think of your skills and experience and consider how you could leverage them online.

There are websites dedicated to promoting freelancers who can list their skills and bid for fixed price jobs. Perhaps you could try those?

Thanks, guys. Well, I am an ex-Technical Author in the oil and gas industries where I worked in many different countries. Today, I receive e-mails from many recruitment agencies and during the last six months, I have not received one vacancy for an oil and gas author. The industry is drying up (pardon the pun)!!

Chloboshoka, I have already had a self-publishing book published. I do have a blogsite but making money from it is quite impossible!

You missed "MLM marketing rubbish" like Scentsy , FM fragrances , betterware , bodyshop at home etc off your list of don't want to do .

Only those at the very top of the pyramid make any money , the rest just waste their time , lose money and give up as it's many hours for little or no returns

    Have you tried FFiver? https://www.ffiver.com/gigs/write-and-translation/technical-writing

You could do freelance work, setting your own rates and specifying the types of documents you're willing to work on.

There's also Upwork https://www.upwork.com/cat/writing-translation and many other freelancing websites you could try.

  • My advice is checkout /r/UKFinance on reddit, they have an 'Income Document' list pinned at the top of the sub which literally has every single online income source you can possible think of. I manage around £400ish a month doing it part time which seems to be the average part timers make on there. but I'm sure if you did it full time you could easily make more than a real world job, because a lot of the sites like LionBridge are better in the day when they are not over-saturated.

    Hi DisablednProud,

Thanks for the valuable information. I look at UKFinance but cannot see the 'Income Document' list from the forum. Do I have to register an account to see the list? thank you!

@ppyim - I've had a look and I assume it's the following link is under the Important Info section (no registration required):

"Online Income Master Doc - compiled list of tested online money-making resources."

I haven't tried any of these yet (will have a look today), but thanks to @DisablednProud for pointing it out.
