The prize:
The winner and guest will stay for two nights, B&B, at Middlethorpe Hall, a fine William and Mary house owned by the National Trust. Run in country-house style, on the edge of York, it is set in 20 acres, which include a walled garden planted with pears, figs, medlars and a herbaceous border. The hotel’s kitchen garden supplies many of the ingredients for its restaurant.
Bedrooms are decorated in a traditional style, with antiques and historical prints, and the hotel also has a large indoor pool and spa. A neck-and-shoulder massage each for the winner and guest is included in the prize.
The prize also includes one dinner for two (excluding wine) and one afternoon tea, with smoked salmon sandwiches, eclairs, Pimm’s trifle and carrot cake on the menu. It must be taken before August 1, 2022, subject to availability and excluding bank holidays, as well as the period from December 18 to January 3 and York Racecourse dates.
