Co-Operative Insurance Society Limited (CIS Insurance) - Company Pension Tracing

Hello

I worked for this company for a few years and had a pension with them.  I am now trying to trace this with no success.

I understand CIS got taken over by ROyal London, but they cant find anything
I then got put onto the CoOP Pace scheme people and they have nothing
I then tried the Gov pension tracing scheme who have a name and address but I know that there is no one at that address now

Any other suggestions please?

Thanks

Royal London bought the retail pensions book. It won't have taken on the old CIS DB pension.

When you say you worked for them for a couple of years.  Was it more than 2 years or less?  (less than 2 years usually means either a refund of contributions or a transfer out to another pension).

A quick google search found the old scheme booklet with an address in it for Manchester

It won't be PACE DC as that is the modern DC scheme.   You would almost certainly have been in one of the old DB schemes.

    Hi

Thanks for this it was about 3 years and I definitely have a pension with them as I have an old letter referring to it.  I just dont have a plan number as I was told my NI number was my reference.

The Royal London people say they cant find anything and so do the PACE people.

I assume like old savings accounts that someone must be liable for holding these funds somewhere

    The scheme was contracted out?

When exactly were you a member?

Try link  in post below for full NI record.

Have you obtained a state pension forecast?

I think the scheme was contracted out but was a long time ago now.

I think I was there for about 3 1/2 years in the mid 90s.

The Gov pension service admitted that they didnt have much information and directed me to go to the tax office and get a statement of where my NI contributions went.  So now I am waiting on that to come through in the next few weeks.

Have you tried the DB scheme contact given to you in the links higher up?   So far you have said you tried the retail pension side of RL  (which it wont be) and the current DC Pace scheme (which it is unlikely to be).   The DB is more likely in the period you mention.
