Balance transfer query

Hello, I'm working on my credit card debts. An existing card has a balance transfer offer (6m interest free 3% fee). This card already has a balance on it and interest is high. Is there any benefit of transferring balance from another card to this one? I would be able to clear transfered money in the 6m period but worried about how the payments would be allocated. So I currently pay £100 to the card which is min payment plus extra to reduce balance. I have a balance of £400 on another card which I'm paying £75 off. If I transfer the £400 and pay £175 would that save interest?
Sorry for long post I'm just trying to understand and make more sensible decisions!

Read your CC statement to confirm but I would imagine they will allocate your payments to the highest interest bearing balance first (& rightly so), therefore if you are unable to clear this prior to the BT then I see no benefit other than to save 6 months worth of a bit of interest. If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.
