Wedding Public Liability Insurance

We are about to book our wedding (fairly cheap and small) and the wedding  venue are asking for £2 mil public liability insurance. From research this looks like it’s quite common, although I’m pretty sure they will have their own insurance. Due to the pandemic it looks like a lot of companies are no longer offering it, and those that do can charge a premium.(eg £150 for an insurance policy that was £49)
Has anyone been able to get just public liability insurance, as a stand alone product ? I’m not concerned about all the other stuff being covered, the venue have said they will just book us to a different day if things go bad again.
Just seems like another hidden cost to an already spiralling budget.
