Has anyone any experience of the same problem with Euro notes? A friend recently gave me €110 (2x50+1x10)which he'd had for around 4 years. He's no longer interested in going abroad so thought I could use them, but I'm not sure if they are still valid. Where can I check please?0

I used to Work at Bank of England and notes never expire, you just can’t spend in shops. The words on them ‘Promise to pay the bearer’ means just that.
For any old notes not in circulation, banks are duty bound to change for new notes.
This does not apply to coins, as made by royal mint.0
