Missed bank info off my tax return

Hi all
I completed my 2020-2021 tax return last night. I am owed a refund.  Somehow, I completely missed the part where I put my bank details if I've paid too much tax.  Is there a process to sort this?  Should I just call HMRC, or can I request it with details after it's all been processed?  In all previous tax returns I have provided my bank details, but just missed it this time, I have no idea how!
I don't want it refunded through my tax code, btw.
Thanks
KiKi

A refund is not given through your tax code.

Your statement of account will show  the refund due and you will be able to request repayment then.

Thank you, that's great. :)  I mentioned the tax code as previously they've adjusted it to reflect ongoing charity payments which I didn't want them to do.  Appreciate it's not the same thing, but thought they might apply the same logic!

    Thanks again.

Can anyone think of a reason why OP shouldn't just amend the filed tax return to include the bank account details?

No however it might be quicker to just follow the process outlined here?

I was just thinking that amending the return would take moments. Having said that, I have experience of putting the bank account details on the return, and then requesting a refund via the process you mention, neither of which made the slightest difference (in the end I just left it to reduce the next payment, and this was pre coronavirus).

I didn't know I could amend it - I went into the gov website and I can see my submission number, but no way to amend it.  Because of my circumstances I won't ever underpay tax, so I do need to claim it - but the link the other person posted is really clear, so I shall use that once they've had a chance to process it all (at the moment the account says nothing is due to me, presumably because I only submitted it last night).

Thanks again to all for their help.
