in Cutting tax
Good morning,
I have tried HMRC numerous times but no reply. Hoping someone can explain my tax calculation that is 612LX.
The 'child benefit deduction' is £1,512. I don't receive that amount for my one child never mind have this amount as a deduction.
I'm also not sure what the 'estimated tax you owe us this year £1441' is.
I have copied and pasted below :

That is a tax code (relating to tax paid during the year), not a tax calculation (which finalises things after the tax year ends).
The Child Benefit deduction of £1,512 will probably collect £604.80 extra tax during the year (£1,512 x 40%).
That is not the HICBC, it is ensuring you pay some extra tax towards your HICBC. You will have more tax on your P60 so less to pay via Self Assessment.
There is no estimated amount of tax owed of £1,441. There is a tax code deduction of £1,441 which is to try and collect an extra £401 during the course of the tax year (£1,441 x 40% = £576.40 but if tax code is only used for about 2/3rds of the tax year it will collect c£401.
