Hi . I'm a single mum of 3 young children's. Recently move to council property waiting for universal credit . Is anywhere I can get some support for food and white goods please thank you so much

It might be more advisable to check out second hand stores if/where you can or join your town's nearest pages on facebook for buying and selling - sometimes people are so kind and will post stuff up that is actually available for free.

White goods - there is this site Fair for you, but I have no idea if this will be right for you and I have no direct experience but they seem a different model to long term rent items only types of places - they are saying they are a not for profit alternative and might be better then getting 'refurbished' items sent to your home from a more commercial rental company.

Regarding white goods, sometimes local councils used to have extra funding for families in need. You could contact them to ask them if there's any help they can give for white goods. Failing that have a look on the free sites on facebook and gumtree, sometimes people give away items.

With food, as advised there's foodbanks. If you've recently applied for Universal Credit and are awaiting first payment, you can get an advance payment BUT this will need to be repaid back from future UC payments so do be aware of that.
