It's time to replace our towels, which are a mis-match of 15 year old hand me downs (those are from Christy) and cheapies. I simply want a nice set of good quality, matching towels in a muted mid or dark blue. Happy to spend up to £200 for 4 hand towels, 4 bath sheets and 4 bath mats.
I ordered 'denim' towels from Christy which are navy (and that was fine), but the first 'denim' bath mat was blue-green and the second 'denim' bath mat is mid-blue. When I'm spending that kind of money I want them to match.
Any recommendations?

We buy these and they are amazing and super luxurious. We stayed in a posh hotel a few years ago and had the most blissful nights sleep. Prior to checkout we stripped the bed to see where the pillows were from and they were from this company. I rang the company, they double checked which pillows the hotel had bought from them and we bought the same, lol.We then subsequently bought the towels and they are great, I wouldn't buy them anywhere else.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End

Just a thought, would you not buy white towels and then you don't have to worry about them matching or looking washed out over time.

I'm convinced that sheets & towels aimed at the hospitality industry are the most robust. I still have a towel I bought in 1998 from M&S, but subsequent purchases in the last few years have not fared well. We bought white hotel towels for staging our house in 2019 and they are like new, cheap towels are a waste of time, guest towels from dunelm last July are already threadbare.2

I agree that buying cheap towels is pointless - when we bought our current home our worldly goods were in storage for some months whilst we got the worst of the renovations out of the way. We picked up a few cheap towels etc to tide us over (can't recall where from now, possibly a supermarket) and they went threadbare/thin in no time at all.
Our towels are mostly from Liberty, although I also have a few American ones that are very good. When I couldn't get more of the Liberty ones as they'd stopped making them, I found some (brand new) on eBay 😄
The majority of ours are white, although I do have black (Liberty Ianthe pattern) for the cloakroom 😉Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

So much to read, so little time.1 -
I actually like cheap towels - just bought a couple of bath sheets and hand towels from Tesco that cost me just £9 in total (for the 4) last week. They match my current guest room colours and I'll have no qualms in turning them into 'dog drying' towels in a couple of years. My granddaughter asked if I had 'stolen' the previous Tesco (white) towels from a hotel, as they were (and still are) so soft!
My Christie towels gave up the ghost around 5 years ago - they were a wedding present back in 1978 so 35+ years old... but we'd fallen out of love with them a good 25 years previously.

Yes the Tesco towels are a bit of a bargain. At £2.50 for a bath towel they don't need to last long to pay for themselves2

I've heard good things about the Fox & Ivy towels from Tesco but couldn't see them online. I will check out the other recommendations, thank you!
I prefer the look of a coloured towel, though we do have some white guest ones. Some of the ones we have definitely faded (the cheap ones, for sure) but the more expensive ones from Christy or M&S have held their colours well.0 -
I have some white Egyptian cotton towels from Asda, bought when the bathroom was refitted in my ex-marital home 10 years ago and they are still lovely & soft. I also have a set of "normal" towels from Asda & one from Sainsbury's bought around the same time. These have been dyed to suit my new bathroom and again are still soft & thick. Somehow I managed to leave the older less-nice towels behind when I moved out...not sure how that happened 🤔😂
If you don't want to buy high Street, have you looked at TKMaxx? They have some lovely towels, and when I need some more I will be buying from there.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
