Looks good; so long as that tree doesn't throw any sand in the vaseline, you'll get power from sunrise all the way through the day :)

Recently had a solar survey done for the roof and the installer has come up with 7x 340W panesl in a 3 + 4 split on the roof towards the rear of the house.
The front of the house/roof is facing NE and the only south facing roof is the rear (the roof which appears sunlit!). The roof in the front part of the house gets sun during the morning, is there any point in putting a few panels (around 3)?  The whole idea being able to generate enough to match the consumption. We used to have 3.5KWp panels in our old home with enphase 215 micro inverters and hoping to maximise what we can have in our current house.

Simples, re-roof the extensions with a SW uniform pitch with a small flat section at the ridge if need be to get the pitch right....
    I think....

    Finally had the system installed
6.6KWp, it's cost me an arm, hopefully the panels will be able to provide enough leccy.

The emergency backup from the Givenergy will supply the lights and garage sockets.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but why are your panels rated in Wh ?

do they stop generating after that number of Wh is reached? or .........?

This is a layout plan of live production. Looks like the figures are showing how much has been produced by each panel during the course of one day.
    Install 28th Nov 15, 3.3kW, (11x300LG), SolarEdge, SW. W Yorks.
    Install 2: Sept 19, 600W SSE
    Solax 6.3kWh battery

@michaels not sure if it's going to be financially viable.  if the production is rubbish, i might have to go down that route. The below pic is from our old house which supports how roof orientation will make a big difference (same day, 20miles away - 250w panels, Enphase 215 micro inverters 6.5yrs old).

@Hexane it's a screenshot from Enphase interface, showing the energy generated yesterday per panel

    System 1 - 14 x 250W SunModule SW + Enphase ME215 microinverters (July 2015)
    System 2 - 9.2 KWp + Enphase IQ7+ and IQ8AC (Feb 22 & Sep 24) + Givenergy AC Coupled inverter + 2 * 8.2KWh Battery (May 2022) + Mitsubishi 7.1 KW and 2* Daikin 2.5 KW A2A Heat Pump
  • It you don't mind saying, how much did the system cost?

I think fully populating the roof is a solid idea. Heat-pumps/air-con/BEVs could well mean your consumption will go up in the future.

Thanks! Was wondering if I was going crazy!

I am intrigued by the difference in output per panel. Ignoring the 385Wh panel which presumably is in shade I see there is a variation of around 5% between best and worse panels. Looking at the  front roof on the current property there is a range of around 8-9%. Is this due to shading or do you typically see this type of variation between panels.

I ask this because I seem to have a difference of around 17% between strings of panels on an unshaded roof and even greater in low light. I had a guy swap the strings round to check it was not the inverter playing up. (I don’t have solaredge so can’t see individual power outputs.)

@JKenH. This is from our old house.
The panel producing 385Wh is not shaded, it was working well till August 2020. The performance difference among panels seems to be widening, maybe degredation. The below is from 23rd July 2015.

@SecondTimeBuyer completely agree. Other than true North, all other roof can be littered with panels. I do struggle to see the panels on my roof other than the front ones, so not complaining!
