Thank v much to everyone who was so helpful on this thread. I set up the AVC straight away and the first payment apparently (according to 'my uss' transaction history) was received and invested a week ago. I just had a quick Q for those of you who already do this.
When I look at my 'pot value' on my USS it only has the normal contributions that I was already making. The AVC has gone into different funds to my normal contributions but those funds don't appear to make up any part of my pot. I don't seem to be able to see them anywhere on the site. If you already make AVCs to the IB, can I just check where on the website you see the value of those contributions? Knowing USS I expect the answer is that the site is just incredibly slow to update and in a month or so I'll be able ot see them in 'my pot value' but I just want to make sure that there isn't a problem with how it's set up.
