Confidential waste

Hi, I'm new here so if I have put this in the wrong place then please move to where it is meant to be please :-)
I have some confidential waste with both my old and new addresses on them. I'm unsure whether to just put the information in normal rubbish, shred it all using a shredder (this would take forever) or to use a confidential waste company (although I'm a bit concerned on how safe this is).
Any advice on what would be best to do would be great.
Many thanks.

I'd hope theat confidential waste contained more than youi name and address. That is in no way confidential.Sounds like you have a lot though if you can't shred it. Open fire?Things most people things are confidential are not though, so do think it out.0

I used to tear address and any account numbers from post, shred them and put shreddings in paper bag which went with rest of unshredded post into recycling.

I had quite a lot of confidential waste to get rid of and after several hours shredding lost the will to live and decided to use a confidential waste disposal company. Did some checks before choosing to see that they were registered for waste disposal. It is not cheap, but bags arrived quickly by post and six full bags later were collected and the next day received a destruction certificate by email. Hardest thing is deciding how many bags to order. Best thing, (apart from getting a life back from shredding), is that documents can be left in sleeves, folders or even files as their process can shred the lot and then sort into different waste categories, paper, plastics, metal etc.0
