Anyone fancy swapping skills?

Hello everyone! I want to use my free time to develop my skills much further and would like to see whether anyone have the same idea as me. We can basically teach each other our professional skills for free and we both learn. Such a great win-win deal!
I am looking for a violin/piano/flute/singing teacher to teach me. I am currently grade 5/6 in violin and grade 4 in piano. I am not a complete beginner in singing.
I can offer the below skills:
I am a professional Erhu player ( Erhu is a Chinese instrument, I previously had performance in several famous locations).
Mandarin - native level

I live in London!
I think people could also post their skills below and someone can swap skills can keep in touch!

Sounds like this would be done in people's homea.
I would be very wary of letting someone you don't know into your home. I get tradesman a do that but you have their details first and find our who they are from other customers.Mortgage free wannabe

Oh yeah. Of course, I would like to do it on Zoom first and probably not really going to do face to face anytime soon due to the current Covid situation.Sncjw said:Sounds like this would be done in people's homea.

I think it sounds like a lovely idea but I don't fancy learning those things (sorry! I already play a musical instrument and know I'm absolutely carp at learning foreign languages) and I don't live in London. Good luck with your endeavor as it does sound interesting.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Do you believe you could learn any of your existing skills over zoom, if the answer is yes surely watching YouTube videos would achieve similar.

But if you have a meeting or a class that you are attending (via zoom or IRL) you have a commitment and most people will then engage for that period of time. I've watched a lot of Bob Ross programmes over the last 18 months but it hasn't made me do any painting. I've still got all the kit I rushed out to buy in March 2020 - some still in the bag it went in to carry it home from the shop.oh_really said:Do you believe you could learn any of your existing skills over zoom, if the answer is yes surely watching YouTube videos would achieve similar.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Why not use one of the many sites set up to do just this, such as:
https://www.lovemoney.com/news/67241/skill-swapping-website-app-repair-computer
https://www.moneymagpie.com/save-money/swap-to-save-money
https://www.cosmopolitan.com/uk/worklife/careers/a29700052/how-to-upskill-skill-swap/
Loads more if you just do some basic googling.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!3 -

Excellent. I feared you might have a long wait on here to find someone who wanted to swap music teaching for learning Mandarin...!Shirley21 said:
