Retirement Notice Period

I have a 1 month notice period
I handed my notice in early April with a finish date of September 30th basically because I wanted to be professional and give my company plenty of time to replace me. I orginally wanted to finish end of July but my company wanted me to work to the end of the year. We reached a compromise based on me getting my company car for a reasonable price and I offered to do some consultancy work if a replacement wasn't found.
A replacement has been found but it now seems the good deal on my car isn't going to be upheld. I am also really struggling at work and just don't enjoy it anymore
My question is can I rescind my notice in September and bring it forward by giving them 1 months notice?

Was your agreement put into writing?
If you didn't sign a new fixed term contract with them, then your obligation to give one months notice is all that is required to leave.
If you want to double-check this and you have home insurance, check if you have legal expenses cover and if you do, give the legal helpline a call. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.2 -
If a suitable replacement has been found. Are you now excess to requirements?0
