PCN from CarFLow ---Despite Payment and Evidence

Hi,
I received a PCN from CarFlow despite making a parking payment(1.20) and sharing the required evidence. The reason provided is that the number plate does not match with the entry.
Now the machine printed the ticket with a first letter and according to Carflow it still violates the contract as the correct number plate was not entered though they can still reconcile from their statement .The POPLA appeal outcome also favours CarFlow thereby disregarding the evidence of ticket  payment  . The PCN is now 20£ for incorrect number plate and I disagree with the charge .
Can I seek some advice on what options do i get ? Should I wait for court notice or make a payment ?

If it’s one digit extra/wrong, then the BPA CoP says that is a simple keying error and the PCN should have been cancelled. Complain to the BPA that Carflow have treated a one digit extra error (caused by their machine) as if it was a major keying error and thus have breached the Code of Practice and misled POPLA, it seems.

Do you mean there was only one letter printed on the ticket, or there was an extra letter in front of the VRM?

If the former, it would seem on the balance of probabilities to be a machine error,
If the latter, technically the correct VRM was entered so no breach occurred. At most, an extra letter would constitute a minor keying error.
