Buyer returning item using the not as described option a dress that's not a dress

Recently sold a ladies petite pinafore dress buyer is returning using the not as described option as she says its not a dress even though it was listed with the exact wording as the label she says its a tunic and couldn't even be worn as a dress with tights and she is a petite 10 I get the feeling she doesn't know the meaning of petite and it is to short for her.
Ebay have automatically accepted the return which is fine because I accept returns but I feel the buyer should be paying the return costs and not me just wondering if anyone knows the best way to challenge this and has anyone ever challeanged and had the return costs waived

We had one whereby the buyer said it wasn't as described. We proved, via the listing, that it was exactly as described.
eBay closed the return.
We heard no more about it from the buyer, not even feedback (which we were grateful for, being as it would have been a negative which would have meant another call to eBay).1 -
I have tried contacting ebay who are adamant there is no way to prove what I sent them was indeed what was listed seem to be going round in circles I will take the hit but I am not willing to do so quietly

Last year I had an collectible item returned to me as "not as described" when in fact it was exactly as described, both in photo and description. Not only did she use an 24hr service to return it (which cost something like £8, when the original postage was £3.70) but she did not return it in its original packaging, which was a rigid box to protect it (the item had its own lightweight box) - just wrapped it in a bit of bubble and a grey over polythene wrap. Result - item box got squashed. I rang ebay and basically after I explained what had happened, they refunded the returns cost. They said they could do nothing about the damage because there was no way I could ensure that even if it was in my orig. packaging, it still could have been damaged. Which is true, but seems rather unfair. But it seems to me Buyers can behave pretty poorly and get away with it.1

I sell everything I cna lay my hands on- but never clothes, far too many issues. Returns seem to be par for the course, the US sellers in particular (who don't have to take change of mind returns) suffer badly from what they call 'cruise wear borrowers' who buy an entire vacation worth of clothes, keep labels in if new, wear carefully just once and then return as soon as they get home as 'not as described'.
When I have sold clothes in the past buyers seem to think that if they buy something too big or too small and surprise surprise it doesn't fit- that isn't a change of mind return, that's an SNAD as they are 'sure they are a size 14' but bought mine in a 12 as it 'looked' big.
The notable one which I have posted here in the past was someone who sent me a photo of them wearing (and actually damaging a skirt ) which was at least 8 inches too small at the waist, she could barely get it over her head- I questioned the fact that it was a size 10 and she insisted that she was a 10 as her mother made all her clothes and told her she was a lovely size 10 . That came back ripped at seam with zip where she had obviously tried to force it over her head, but as a SNAD 'size not as stated'. So after numerous emails calls and chats ebay are adament there is nothing they can do the only option now left is to let ebay close the case in the buyers favour and then dispute it which will leave me open to negative feedback and a defect on my account.The item has been returned and it is what was sent I have a video of it being open and the label still says dress

Do not follow the advice to allow ebay to close the dispute unless you have any guarantee from them about an appeal working. I now have the option to dispute the reason given for return on the refund page but like everything else its being complicated by only allowing pictures when I have a video of the return item and I doubt taking pictures now will help
Just contacted ebay to see if I can add a video getting the usually scripted response they reamin impartial and don't accept video's as proof .
Time to refund and move on Ive wasted enough time now thanks all for the advice0 -
May have just had a result just as I was about to give up latest chat advisor has stated
You just have to get back to us via chat after you refund the buyer, and we will send a manual refund request to our team who will credit the return postage cost back to you, just get back to us after the case closure
