Receding gums. Grafts? Pinhole technique or nothing?

Hello everyone. Over the years a brushed quite often and quite hard. I have stopped that now and do use an electric toothbrush. That said over the last 3-6 months I have notice especially my front 2 teeth and one or two others receding quite abit.

I have been brushing less frequently and less aggressively. Its starting to really annoy me looking at it and every day it seems to be getting worse.

There's maybe 4/5 teeth like that but obviously the front ones are annoying. I only have sensitivity in 2 of them and it's quite mild. Quite annoying with really sweet things mind.

I have posted a photo below for any dentists or people who have had similar issues to see. You can clearly see one front tooth and the other is going that way. Also the corner tooth on the right of the photo has a space quite big. Any advice welcomed. Thanks.

Go see a dentist, let them advise you as they can see you, your X-rays , your gum health etc. You cannot rely on the judgement of strangers from the internet .

I have and they didn't really seem to know what the best thing to do was. They simply advised me not to brush as hard and buy and electric toothbrush which I did.

However I don't really have confidence in them.  I am waiting on information from another dentist.

I thought I'd ask here as some of the "strangers from the internet" are dentists or have experienced similar things. Thats what the forum is for after all.

Sorry but the forum is not for medical advice . I would suggest you see another dentist as tooth brushing is not the only issue here . But really this is not the place to get medical/dental advice .

Indeed, several are (as far as anyone can possibly tell on an anonymous forum!) and they are generally very helpful as far as possible. However the forum rules specifically prohibit giving medical advice.

One such person has responded to you.

OK sorry I didn't realise that medical advice or abit of info couldn't be given on the forum. I've seen it given before so something must have changed.

The question was also directed at people who had similar issues maybe so they could advise of how they got it sorted but maybe that's not allowed either.

You need to see a dentist about this. It's not a question of how it is treated, it's a question of what caused it and that can only be diagnosed by someone who can see you and your medical and dental history x rays etc.
Once the cause is sorted then any treatment options , their pros and cons can be discussed. This is not going to be something sorted on the NHS .

OK Brook. It seems you are someone who knows what they are talking about. Thanks for the advice. I have contacted a private dentist today so I am awaiting their reply.
