Just after some advice re opening a new basic bank account before I submit my BR.
Would it be best to open a new basic account in my name, or just transfer my salary & pension payments into my wife's existing current account and then use her account for payments etc?
Many thanks for any advice anyone can give.

I would always open my own basic bank account to be honest. Keeps things simpler1

I agree with luvchocolate.
When you've declared bankruptcy you may have to provide bank statements, etc., so for that reason alone it will be a lot less complicated to keep your finances separate.
In terms of basic bank accounts, Nationwide flexbasic is pretty good, also Barclays basic has a good rep here.2
