AMAZON STILL OFFERING DEAL THAT FINISHED A WEEK AGO

I received an email from Amazon about a week ago informing me that if I spent £25 I would get £10 off, the small print told me it was open to the first 5000 customers, I picked out a couple of things that I needed but when I went to pay I was informed that I couldn’t take up the offer, so presumably 5000 people had already taken up the offer, so I cancelled my order.
Yesterday I received the same email from Amazon and I see it is also being offered on MSE. Bit late methinks.
If you are thinking of taking up this offer don’t bother, just amazes me that companies such as Amazon are allowed to advertise offers that clearly don’t exist.

I had a Chat with someone on their site, they apologised and blamed it on automatic re-sending whatever that is, I tried to explain that all programmes are installed by humans but I think that went over their head and they offered me £5.00 in my account, I didn’t complain that i missed out on the £10 offer I complained because they were still sending these emails to probably hundreds of thousands of people, anyway nuff said.0

Are you sure you actually complied with the terms of the offer ? Many are very specific around what items are eligible. Not had an e-mail but found an offer on the front page of my account similarly limited to 5000. It was £10 off £25 when purchasing from Amazon through the app - not Amazon Marketplace sellers and not on the website - and excluded some categories. Got it wrong first time but with eligible items it worked.
