Anyone used Voyant?

After talking to an IFA who wants £2k to create a financial plan for me using Voyant, I thought why not save myself some cash, and have a go at using it myself. Yes I know it's supposed to be an application for financial advisers, but as they offer a free 30 day trial of the fully featured software, what's stopping me from cutting out the middle man?

Anyway, I entered details of my deferred benefits pension, which has a NRA of 65. I would like to retire at age 60, but take the DB pension at 65. However, Voyant has my DB benefits inextricably linked to my desired retirement date of 60. I cannot seem to get it to work with the idea that I don't actually want to take that DB pension until 5 years after I retire. If it can't cope with this, I'm not that impressed.

I think Pension Craft was offering a reduced rate access to this. Basically you would buy a “seat” of his licence.

in the comments there’s a bit about DB pensions.

I maybe miss remembering and it wasn’t Voyant.

Have you just signed up for a 30d trial?   Or via PensionCraft?

Would you say it is worth a dabble?
I did try a trial of Timeline a year or two back....it was certainly not designed to be intuitive for the uninitiated, & didn't seem to like that I was on the cusp of ending salaried employment!

    Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!

Yes, 30 day trial. Definitely worth a go.

I think you'll like it. The reports it generates are extremely useful. I wanted to confirm my plans for early retirement, and it's most certainly done that for me.
