I still own a property with my ex husband and currently live in a rental apartment. I have a terrible credit rating and want to rebuild with a loan where I will stick to the repayment plan.
Is it possible to secure a loan against the house I own if I don’t live there?

If your ex agrees then you can - but to take out a secured loan for the purposes of building credit history is madness.
Just take out a high interest credit card and buy £100 worth of shopping each month and pay it back in full when you receive the statement will do a better job.1
