While sitting on HMRC should I be refreshing the screen to see if any advisors are free or does the box just pop up if I sit on the screen.

I'm currently seeing this message:
All of our advisers are busy at the moment. Keep checking this page until the 'speak to an adviser' link becomes available.

I tend to periodically refresh, although I rarely get through!

I usually find that the phones are answered far quicker than the webchat, but I have only ever needed to speak to the website technical support team or the VAT team, it might be different for people on SA lines.

Phoning as soon as lines open  usually works. Start dialling a few minutes before to be at the front of the queue.

Sometimes some staff start early and may answer before official opening time.

I found out you don’t need to refresh, the screen changes to show when they are available. 

The service was actually really good and they were able to help me with my query.
