Noticed today a notice on their website stating they have taken the decision to stop selling products and loans to new and existing customers.
No word though if they are winding up like Brighthouse did.
Has the likes of Klarna put pay to these overpriced rent-to-buy stores?

The store in our local shopping centre closed two years ago, before the pandemic.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

I googled to see if there was any official news, but nearest i got was a couple of years back they were closing all but 1 store, moving the business online.0

Interesting debate OP. Bring back discussion time!
I know when I worked in permanent rental home goods (never rent to buy) it was said BH and the rent to buy likes were actually a bad business model and never were really going to make a profit, honestly this was said with quite a smirk. When I went for the interview, I asked if the increase in business was due to the PDL industry being decimated, I just made the connection about the amount of times you would see a payday loan ad showing a washing machine as one of the needs for money fast, then I started thinking it was because high street charity shops and the 2nd hand stores like Cash Covertor were Covid shut, I used to drive past just yards each day, on the commute home.
Surely people with bad credit ratings/history (such as myself) are unable to access Klarna as it is really just more credit.
Though I was fortunate, I could buy my new hoover outright on what is now my highest salary to date.
In my personal opinion, permanent month on month rent companies will just soar. (until they are stopped too).
Working in one of these places really made me think.
