Hi everyone, I wasn't sure which section would been suited but here I am

So am about to be recruited by first source who manage things on behalf of Lloyd if I understood right ?

But the company flags me with caution, here why

1. The area am supposedly gonna be in is permanently closed according to Google

2. There a India based company ( am not being offensive)

2. The company wants me to download and send them credit report because there a outsourcing company and they wouldn't be able to

What do I do or how to go about this

    Hi,

Go to credit Karma, look in settings, there should be an option to download and print off your credit report.

Seems a tad strange that you have the ability and gumption to apply for a job with an India based company, but don`t know how to download a credit report ?

I'm a bit confused that you're "about to be recruited" by this company, and yet you've "never really heard of them".

Is this a legitimate job that you've seen advertised, then applied for and gone through the sift/interview process? Is it the sort of job you would expect to be offered, and is the salary realistic (i.e. not too good to be true?).

If you're a 19 year old with 2 years experience working in a chicken shop and "Firstsource" have contacted you out of the blue via Facebook and offered you a job as Head Of Audit on £500K PA then you're right to be suspicious.

I've certainly heard of friends who work in financial services being asked to provide copies of their credit reports as part of the vetting process when applying for a new job, so as long as you're happy that the job is real then this in itself wouldn't necessarily put me off from supplying a copy of the report.

So I got contacted by a agency I heard off but they contacted me by indeed message and they told me about this role etc did very basic phone interview with company and they said they offered me job.

But few things that bother me plus never heard of First source but then again probably would be most cases with most job roles on indeed

I want go for it but As worst case scenario what could happen with all details they take off me ? It looks like there head office is based in India and if things went sideways.. the thought my details floating around different country while am in UK ... Puts me on edge

Else there good way to look into company. Else some of you wanna take Look at first source too :) see what you think

On side note. I think this post might need moving to correct thread .

Try googling on the company name and you should find out a lot more.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

So... You were contacted by an agency - which one? - on indeed.
Put forward for a position. Had an interview, and got the job.
Do you have a contract, role, salary info?
Do you know where the office is you are working from etc?
What is the name of the company? Who is Lloyd?
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

Firstsource are an outsourcing company who have a large number of clients including Lloyds Bank. Whilst the company is headquartered in India they operate in several markets. It appears they have call centres in Glasgow, Warrington and others.

Outsourcers operate to a price point generally and look at any online reviews about working for them in the UK and they won't be glowing. They'll have a high churn of staff which probably explains their willingness to overlook the OPs poor english and spelling.

You state you have "heard off" the agency and so as long as you are confident that the person really works for the agency (maybe phone them from the agency's main telephone number) then the rest of it should be fine. The fact that the company is owned by an Indian is irrelevant, you're protected by UK employment law and having done work with UK based BPO's, they treat their staff no better.

Yes yes my English is poor

The thing is most job I gone for have been straight forward and how checks are run etc

But Since this my first time hearing about this company and how they run there checks or how many different types. Really puts me on edge, But at same time if it's a legitimate opportunity I want to go for it but am seriously hesitant

So here what am being asked ; a cifas check
Experian background check and they want me to send them a PDF of my credit report

This seems to me abit extreme or is it normal ?
  • The credit report issue - whilst not employment related and was just under a decade ago, I do remember having to supply my own report when I was getting a debt relief order set up.

Whilst these haven't been ordinary times, organisations can be in trouble, if they don't run ID checks which is probably what this amounts to -
