Better mouse removal (research result, no question)

You might find this research into increasing the effectiveness of mouse removal of interest: https://www.pctonline.com/article/better-bait-take/ . The key findings:
1. mouse droppings in and around your traps or bait stations encourages mice to use them and increases their effectiveness. Pre-seeding with recent droppings would be useful, but don't use bare hands, partly for your hygiene and partly because human smells discourage mice.
2. thoroughly cleaning bait stations and traps is a bad idea because it removes the scent clues that tell mice they are a safe place to go.
Not in the study but if you have a recurring problem it can be handy to use transparent bait stations to see when bait is taken or even something like this where you can mark the tube with a rubber band to see when the bait level changes: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Elixir-Gardens-Lockable-Reusable-Functional/dp/B08MF9CDGK .
