I have an idea

I have an invention idea, but other than a general test it, try different materials, I am not too sure about product development, patenting etc. Can anyone recommend where to find information please?
I'm actually an engineer, but this is a very different product from the ones I work on both technologically and customer base.

Morning KinwpI can't help with product development because you will need to keep your invention secret so we have no idea about your product, but do know a little about patenting.Your best bet to start is the government website - as a new member I can't post links, so we can do it this way.Go to the gov dot uk website. In the address bar, add this to the URL :/patent-your-invention/decide-to-applyEverything you need to know is there - with links on getting yourself a patent adviser/attorney and so on.Am excited for you - hope all goes as well as you would wish.Good luck
