Financial services providers will have to verify their identity with regulator the Financial Conduct Authority before advertising on Google, in an effort to tackle online fraud.

Plain and simple, Google contribute to the problem.
They provide a search engine. Searching for a bank or DVLA should provide the legitimate service at the top.
Even searching for MoneySavingExpert provides the correct site several entries down the list!
It means less tech-savvy users are directed to the wrong place based on ad revenue.1
