Ministry of Justice - Unauthorised Access

I applied for a job with them ages ago and got an email to say they had updated the vacancy status.
I tried to locate the log in page to see but I have gone to the wrong page after attempting to log in.
I tried logging in and it wouldn’t let me and then realised I think I was trying to access a login page for something else, but it did have justice jobs in the url.
It said at the bottom no unauthorised access, anyone attempting to gain access would be prosecuted.
Now I’m worried this attempt will be seen as me trying to gain access.
I’m a natural worrier so sorry if I sound mad!

And here I was hoping for a real action movie kinda thing with you crawling under barbed wire and defusing bombs!!!
Well - I wouldn't worry too much. frankly I don't think they have the time, money or inclination to run after anyone who inadvertently clicks their links. Must happen every day.
I might call them or go back on the email and say "oops, I clicked the wrong link! hope that doesn't stuff things for me!" or something more job applicant like.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. The warning is there to allow them to prosecute people who persistently try to gain access. As you presumably stopped trying to access the site after a few attempts, they won't have any interest in tracing or prosecuting you. You can stop worrying. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1

Yes after two attempts I realised and then found the right webpage fo log in to.0

There's natural worrying, and hopelessly overdoing it....you are safely (and in your case reassuringly!) in the latter camp on this particular issue. Forget it.MarkN88 said:I applied for a job with them ages ago and got an email to say they had updated the vacancy status.I tried to locate the log in page to see but I have gone to the wrong page after attempting to log in.I tried logging in and it wouldn’t let me and then realised I think I was trying to access a login page for something else, but it did have justice jobs in the url.It said at the bottom no unauthorised access, anyone attempting to gain access would be prosecuted. Now I’m worried this attempt will be seen as me trying to gain access.I’m a natural worrier so sorry if I sound mad!Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
I suspect genuine hackers are a lot more subtle in their attempts. I’d forget about it - it’s not people like you they’ll be worrying about. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Well exactly. It just makes you think when the word prosecuted is mentioned at the bottom. I only tried logging in once then realised it was the wrong site when it said it did not recognise my details. From looking at the terms at the bottom it looks like it’s the login for staff that manage applications. I’ve just clicked the wrong thing when I googled. As it still showed as “justice jobs”.0

I've checked on my employer's website and it says something similar. I wouldn't worry about a random click.MarkN88 said:Well exactly. It just makes you think when the word prosecuted is mentioned at the bottom.
