hi

the article on 31/3/21 on MSE says Mcdonalds will be accepting the loyalty cards/stickers after today (30th June) for an as yet undetermined period......to be communicated nearere the time.

well as the scheme 'officially ends today'  i was expecting to have heard an update by now but nothing...

i've tried contacting Mcdonalds a number of times about this but either get no response or they just say it ends 30th June and know nothing about any extension....

can anyone shed any light on this?

does anyone know a definitive answer?

i would like to think MSE are chasing this up with Mcdonalds as it was reported by them in their news article on 31/3/21, however there is no way on contacting anyone at MSE.

thank you

What does it state on the actual card? I recall in the past the cards would expire 31st December.

The terms here https://www.mcdonalds.com/gb/en-gb/terms-and-conditions/coffee-loyalty.html state they expire on the 30 June 2021 if the card doesn't have an earlier date on it.

MSE were probably quoting a press release as similar appeared elsewhere at the time.

On the 30th the Sun said
MCDONALD'S fans must use up any stickers they've collected to get a free hot drink by the end of the day.

A big shake up the way its loyalty scheme works starts tomorrow and means the paper rewards will no longer be valid.

    probably...

that's not a lot of good telling people on the day they expire when they've previously said they would be accepted beyond that!!

    terrible PR

The quote used by more than one site

"McDonald’s have said: “We’re giving customers three months notice to collect and use the stickers - we’ll communicate more information on the physical stickers nearer the end date"

30/06 was 3 months notice from the original press release - don't know what if anything McD have said since

that's the point - they've not communicated anything at or near the end.

But nothing changed either, so its sensible to go with the previous communication that there was only three months to use them, ending on the 30th June.

If I collected the stickers I would use them as a card completed instead of paying so at worst I would only lose 1 free drink (MSE generally recommend gift vouchers, store credit etc is used asap and this is pretty much the same thing)

agree but i expect a retailer (especially one as big as Mcds) to be true to their word
