    Milarky - it is my understanding that this is the last tax year you can do carry back. That is, Jan 31st 2006 is the last date at which you can elect to carry back a payment made in this (2005 - 2006) tax year to use the previous (2004 - 2005) tax year's allowance. Once we're in the 2006 - 2007 tax year, the 100% (or £215K, whichever is the lower - I'd love to have that problem) limit will apply.
