This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning folks.Yesterday I drove up to my own place after deciding not to. I had a very stressed morning as I discovered that I'd lost my purse. 😢 It's only a very small coin purse with three cards as I carry notes separately. I check the bank accounts and credit card account, luckily nothing had been taken so I had hoped that it had been handed in somewhere. The two places I had used my debit card at didn't have it. Once I'd taken three big bags to the CS and even more to the tip and was back at the flat I was frazzled. Cancelling the cards was next, two were easily done on my mobile whilst the third took a phone call.Losing my purse seemed like the final straw to my nerves so I packed up some bags of my stuff and two winter coats and drove home. Just the drive calmed me down so I treated myself to a Chinese takeaway and a wee glass of wine. A friend was driving past, saw my car and dropped in for a wee dram. His beautiful sprocker spaniel sitting next to me was just what I needed.Today I feel so much better. I'll get myself ready shortly and get back to Glasgow as there's still a lot to do. A night by the sea has refreshed me.I hope that everyone has a good day. Happy Sunday.10

Morning folks and thanks GERS for starting us off. I'm glad you have got your head back on straight after a night in your own little home and that gorgeous view. Not long now until you are back there permanently and posting more photos of your lovely garden.
The forecast says cloud cover all day but the sky is currently blue and the sun is shining. I am not expecting it to last! At least the nithering wind of yesterday has dropped.
The independent gas man my bf always uses came yesterday to suss out my boiler and, oh dear, it's far from good news. It's not as simple as a boiler change as all the pipework and electrics need replacing as they would never pass a safety check. Goodness knows how old all the pipework is as we've been here over 40 years and it's not been changed in all that time. So it involves going under the house, up in the loft and under the floors inbetween. Aaargh. And I daren't even think how much it is going to cost! He is going to email me an estimate midweek. Anyway it has to be done so I've no choice! Much belt tightening will have to be done!
No plans for today and I still hate Sundays, such a none day somehow. I left a chicken joint out to make a roast dinner and there should be enough left for the next couple of days with any left over veg etc.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies, poorly loved ones and woeful. SCARLET enjoy your breakaway and BELLA hoping you can now relax in your new abode! Thinking of our missing friends as always. Take care one and all x
