  • I wouldn't have frozen it, but would definately eat it the next day - and do regularly!!

Waste not want not - I would have eaten it and made sure that it was really hot before I did. I very often leave food in my kitchen to cool down before putting it in the fridge - sometimes I have mistakenly left things out over night too but I have never come to any harm.

Think what people did before they had fridges - they would eat it. Consider the old adage:

    Pease pudding hot
    Pease pudding cold
Pease pudding in the Pot - 9 days' old.
  • My vote is for binning it. It would probably have been okay left out overnight. But the fact that it has been previously frozen makes a difference, think about all the switching between frozen-warm-frozen-warm you're doing there! Not worth risking a stomach upset for the sake of what, half a meal?

Very good point, Horace - there are probably people on this board who can remember the time before they had a fridge, and what they did with their leftovers in those days.
But most likely they didn't have central heating either!
(Actually I remember my grandmother did not have a fridge. But she kept a pig, and that is where the leftovers went)

I've done this before also and eaten the food without any adverse consequences. As others have said, if it was left out in the Summer then I'd say bin also :)
BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

It was previously frozen in a raw state (I presume). Then roasted and frozen in a cooked state.

Like others have said, nuke it or re-heat to 75-80 degrees constantly for 5mins at least, and you'd have killed all the nasties that may have been there.

    Bon apetite!

unless the kitchen was hot I wouldn't dream of binning it.

I'd have eaten it if it had been there 2 nights... After one night I wouldn't have even thought about not eating it... unless it was rice which breeds bugs at a majorly alarming rate.. I have never had food poisoning.. though have felt dodgy after eating a 'cooked breakfast' at a hotel which had been on a hot plate.

Off to peel my maggoty spuds for dinner.. :D

Yes, I'm usually more careful with rice, however, the other day I'd made some for dinner and forgot to put the leftovers in the fridge. Whilst cleaning up the kitchen later that night I had the munchies and ate some of the cold rice (I know, I know!) and ended up with a bit of stomach cramp during the night :o ... nothing "erupted" though so I think I was very lucky lol ;) :rotfl:
