POSTAL ENTRY ROUTE - WIMBLEDON

Maximum one entry per postcard

Click here to check out our entry bundles starting at just £10 and help support Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

Omaze offers an alternative means of entering into prize draws. The process for using this alternative means of entry is described in detail below. Just like the paid method of entering the prize draw, this alternative method requires you to accept all our terms and conditions. On a blank sheet of paper, or postcard, write your full name, address (no post office box addresses accepted), city, post code, date of birth (dd/mm/yyyy), telephone number (optional), email address and which prize draw you want to enter. For example, 'Omaze Million Pound House Draw- Wimbledon'.

This needs to be written down in very clear writing otherwise the entry may be deemed invalid.

We have appointed Civica Election Services, formerly known as Electoral Reform Services (ERS), as our independent scrutineers to administer this competition. They have over 100 years’ experience in administering elections, ballots and competitions for a wide range of clients including TV programmes and various lottery projects. Please send the sheet of paper in an envelope, or your postcard to the following address via either first or second class post to:

Address:

Omaze Scrutineers- Wimbledon House Draw

Civica Election Services

33 Clarendon Road

London

N8 0NW

A maximum of one entry can be made per postcard or envelope received. There is no limit to the number of entries that may be made this way. Once a postal entry has been processed it will be entered into the next available draw and all subsequent draws until the final Grand Prize drawing. For the avoidance of any doubt, if the postcard states that the entrant would like to enter the Omaze Million Pound House Draw- Wimbledon, and that entrant writes their details as described above, then just as with any one paid entry, this postcard would count for one entry into each Early Bird Prize Draw, one entry into the £1,000 Weekly Cash Draw each week and one entry into the Grand Prize Draw to win the Million Pound House. Postal entries are treated in exactly the same way as paid entries for the purposes of determining a winner. However, there is a difference in the deadlines for entries. All of our draws (weekly £1,000, Early Bird & House) close at 23:59:59 pm (GMT) on the online entry close date specified in the Experience Rules. The corresponding cut-off for postal entries will be that they are received and processed before 5:00pm on the following Tuesday (see Experience Rules for dates). Postal entries have an equal chance of winning as any one paid entry. If a postal entry wins a prize there will be no further purchase or payment necessary to be notified of the win or to receive the prize. If the above steps are not followed as described then a postal entry will be invalid. You will not be notified if your entry is invalid.

The more entries, the more chances to win!

Just to comment that Omaze don't allow typed entries to be submitted via the postal route, for any of us who have problems writing.
I've emailed them and they confirmed:
"no mechanically reproduced entries are permitted. Postal entries must be handwritten."
Which basically excludes people who cannot write due to illness/disability/injury from being able to use the postal entry route.

They offer the free entry route to avoid the regulations/restrictions they would otherwise have to meet for running these type of  competitions. At the same time they want as few free entries as possible and stopping people being able to print as many entries as they like with almost no effort is definitely something they would like.

I remember from something years ago that, I think it was,  Australia had competition rules that required them offer alternative entry for people who could not complete the standard entry route

It's discriminatory though as it means that people that can't handwrite their entry therefore only have the option to do a paid entry.
They already limit it to one postal entry per person anyway, so printing off multiple entries would be pointless.

I've complained via Facebook and their "Contact Us" page - I doubt I'll get anywhere but I can't just say nothing...
(and no, I'm not currently disabled but think it's wrong to be discriminatory  :))

You're right - I misread it as only one postal entry.

That's even worse then as people who can't write by hand can't even enter once but I could enter as many times as I had stamps for.

  • Love it how Omaze always guide people to read their "Experience rules" and not their "official rules". Please note readers Omaze have yet to answer any of my questions to date and appear to have blocked me from their facebook posts, therefore I can no longer comment on their promotions. My posts centre around the following

I personally see it as a bit of a scam and certainly misleads many ticket buyers that are/could be ineligible for the prize pay out even if their ticket number comes out!!! It's all hidden in Omaze's "official rules" terms and conditions that I'm pretty sure most people don't read before purchasing tickets.  Terms and conditions that are quite concerning and frankly disgusting. These terms include the word "potential winner" for several reasons.  For example you have 96 hours to respond to their winning EMAIL notification, they don't have to follow that up with a phone call!!! you then have a couple of days deadline to complete the necessary paperwork!!! Part of that paperwork is to allow Omaze to carry out a criminal background check on the "potential winner" and to do a character assassination. Should a "potential winner" not pass their checks Omaze don't have to disclose their findings and have discretion to not award the prize!!! imagine if people winning the national lottery had to face the same discretional scrutinisation with the end result they were not awarded their prize. Steer clear of this one

National lottery and other house raffles will all require proof of id, age, address  before validating your win, along with the other checks they make to see if you comply with their rules.

In the event you are disqualified it is redrawn and a new winner allocated, so there is no gain for them disqualifying a potential winner

Omaze in the US do a lot of experience prizes (some with celebrities), so they will be loose about what documentation they may require like signed waivers etc...,

They reserve the right to do background checks which of course they can't do without singed authorisation from yourself. I would assume they would be exercising this option where the winner will be interacting with a celebrity.
