Concrete construction

So started looking at houses and seen one of interest to me. However it seems to be of concrete construction, having a quick look around it seems that mortgages are a bit more difficult to come by than for a standard brick built, are they much tougher to get and how bigger a deposit would I need for a decent rate on a mortgage?

@dil1976 Depends on the specifics - type of construction, has it been repaired, does the vendor have the certificates, etc. Worst case scenario it isn't mortgageable on the high-street. Best case scenario it has been repaired and has the necessary ceritifcates so can be mortgaged with high-street lenders. If the property is mortgageable and you pushed me to put a number on the deposit, very very generally I would say 20-25%.

We started the process with one property, the survey came back as a concrete build “wimpy no fines”. We’ve never heard of it before and the estate agents didn’t mention it.The mortgage company wanted 20%, we only had 15% deposit & decided to pull out.1
