Re-mortgage - mortgage charge on title deeds

Options
I'm in the process of re-mortgaging. Everything approved until the mortgage company's conveyancer tells me my solicitor hadn't registered the charge on the title deeds. I emailed my solicitor and notice she has now applied (I only know this as I got an alert from the registry). Does anyone know how long this will take and if it will hold up my new mortage? Its due to start at the end of July (thankfully I started all this very early). I have asked both solicitors but they take about a week to reply!

Hadn't registered your "old" mortgage, do you mean? Why does anybody want it registered if it's just about to be paid off?

    This was their exact wording:

I note you have confirmed you have a Mortgage with Barclays however there is no charge registered on your Title (please see attached). may I suggest you go back to the Solicitors who dealt with your purchase/Remortgage and ask them to register the charge as there is currently nothing for us to redeem.
