I don't work in the city myself (not being prime loot either ) and it's pretty commutable to a range of places within an hour or so. The quality of life is just so much better than I had before so it's been worth the move (which involved a major downsize) 100%. Good luck with your job application!
    Choose kind:)

That is a really good point, one does not have to live where one work, one of my key themes though is to work and live close enough to commute sustainably - both for the environment and for me!

RIght so what s next then, I write the application for full time job and did the interview last Friday, I was offered a part time job to replace the one I have had for 4 years but this is closer to home, so would save travel and be a change of colleagues and it is the same pension pot. And it is teaching a creative topic, where full time job is managing and delivering a schools programme and I am just not sure about that. Possibly too much responsibility and a slightly lower pay grade than the teaching, is that even possible!
So this raises so many questions in my mind of priorities - the old creativity vs security and while I do not see them as opposites because it is my creative practice that has always put food on the table, but not by selling material stuff but through the caring and sharing about creativity and this is at the heart of my practice.
As mentioned in the start of this thread I am using a reflective writing practice to literally rewrite my future and I want to share this out I feel the world is at a cust and most people are just running around looking for missing limes (me at Sainsbury yesterday) when they should be growing their own - something, at least a tree - I love trees and I want trees to be in my future, and I have wild fantasies of becoming a park ranger and just taking to people about trees all day but I really don't have the knowledge to disperse.
So anyways stay tuned, things are happening and I have one more big grant to write and then starting the process of writing bigger research grants and can I do that if I work full time, the other question is will I get it done if I work part time? But I shall not stop. I shall keep this thread and I shall keep making miracles happen. Thanks for listening so far.
